Why Honey Bee Metals?

We hand forge metals such as silver, copper, and buttery gold brass into modern, playful pieces of adornment.

In 2014, when we set up our jewelry studio in a small log cabin in Northern NJ, we heard a buzzing in the wall. Over the coming days — as we began making our first pieces of jewelry for a business we had yet to name — we realized the noise was bees. The hive grew larger over the summer months, keeping us company inside the studio wall. Hence: Honey Bee Metals.

All of the jewelry you see in our shop is made in our studio, now located in Kingston, NY. We made the move in 2025, pivoting from full-time jobs in NJ to making jewelry full time. The mid-Hudson Valley is a place of diverse people who make incredible art, music, food, and all-around good vibes. The Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains are an unending source of nourishment.

Our Style

We make jewelry that we want to wear. Our inspiration runs deep and wide: the modernists like Art Smith and Margaret DePatta; the punk and new wave movement — because we lived it; nature and found objects; new romanticism, Mad Max, and steampunk. And always, the gemstones found in the nooks and crannies of this amazing earth: turquoise, lapis, opal, garnet, moonstone, and beyond.
